United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) Launches Digital Ad Campaign and Website in Iowa’s First Congressional District Race

Campaign defines politician Ashley Hinson as wrong for Iowa workers.

The United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) today made a major investment in the race to represent Iowa’s First Congressional District with a six-figure digital ad buy and accompanying website. Together, the ad and website define Ashley Hinson as out of touch and wrong for Iowa workers.

“Politician Ashley Hinson is not only wrong for UA members and Iowa workers, but she’s actively working against us,” said Mark McManus, General President of the United Association. “Ashley Hinson voted to cut benefits for workers at a time when we need it most. Even worse, her votes to slash benefits would’ve left workers out in the cold during the pandemic. It’s simple: Ashley Hinson doesn’t fight for us.”

“This digital campaign sends a strong message to UA members and Iowa workers about the kind of representatives we need in Washington,” said Russ Breckenridge, Senior Political Advisor for the United Association. “Politician Ashley Hinson is exactly the opposite, consistently voting to help the rich get richer at the expense of Iowa workers. The UA fights tirelessly to elect candidates who have our members’ backs – and that means stopping politicians who would rather side with corporations than hardworking American families.”
