Bipartisan Water Resources Development Act Will Create Good-Paying Union Jobs Protecting Our Water Infrastructure

Thursday, December 19, 2024

Following the overwhelmingly bipartisan passage last night of S. 4367, the Thomas R. Carper Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (WRDA 2024), United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) General President Mark McManus praised the legislation as a strong investment in critical American infrastructure:

“With strong labor protections like Davis-Bacon prevailing wage attached, the Water Resources Development Act of 2024 will put the best trained and most highly skilled men and women to work modernizing and protecting our critical water infrastructure: the men and women of the United Association. This important legislation now heads to President Biden’s desk to become law. The entire United Association is proud to protect critical water infrastructure in all 50 states, and we look forward to continuing our important work thanks to an overwhelming bipartisan majority in Congress.”
