Following a ruling from a federal judge in U.S. District Court upholding the continued lawful operation of the Dakota Access Pipeline, United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) General President Mark McManus hailed the ruling as a win for working families and American consumers everywhere who depend on affordable and reliable sources of energy:
“The Biden-Harris Administration remains committed to approaching pipeline decisions on a case-by-case basis, and their support for the continued operation of the Dakota Access Pipeline reaffirms that commitment. Today’s ruling by a federal judge is a strong step towards both protecting and creating good-paying jobs for the men and women of the United Association working in the energy industry,” said Mark McManus, General President of the United Association. “Make no mistake: after rigorous and thorough reviews, the Dakota Access Pipeline is a source of good-paying jobs for thousands of UA members – and a strong sign of this Administration’s commitment to an all-of-the-above energy approach.”
