UA Pipe PALS panel discussion

Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto (D-NV), a strong UA ally in Washington, D.C., recently announced that she is drafting a bill to study the growing crisis of suicide in the construction industry. For generations, mental health and suicide were taboo on the job site — and our members were some of those who suffered. The UA is working closely with Senator Cortez-Masto to ensure that this bill provides the right resources to address this crisis.

Fighting the stigma is nothing new to the UA. Thanks to the leadership of General President McManus and the UA Pipe PALS Committee, the UA and the MCAA have made incredible strides providing assistance and training to our members to ensure no one is left alone. The UA’s expertise is invaluable, and we look forward to continuing our work with Senator Cortez-Masto to help all of our brothers and sisters in the trades.
