They’re all over the news today: data centers and the energy required to power the future of American technology and innovation. At the UA, we’re training to meet that moment and lead the way forward with the vast amounts of pipe required in each data center. Fringe voices on both sides of the issue are getting louder, but the facts have not changed. The growing reach of AI and the opportunities ahead mean more data centers are getting built, and more manpower is constantly needed. UA International Representative Chris Madello spoke with WIRED about the challenges facing the industry, how the UA is prepared to deliver, and why we need to ensure these jobs continue to go union.
