Brief reaffirms support for project, commitment to case-by-case review process.
United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) General President Mark McManus commended the Biden-Harris Administration for their position taken on the PennEast pipeline project after the Justice Department filed a brief in support of the PennEast project:
“The brief filed by the Biden-Harris Administration reaffirms what we all know to be true: the PennEast project should be allowed to proceed, putting UA members to work and delivering clean, affordable, and reliable energy to New Jersey families,” said Mark McManus, General President of the United Association. “President Biden has shown that his administration will approach each pipeline project on a case-by-case basis where the merits of the project will factor heavily. In affirming its support for eminent-domain, the Biden-Harris Administration has demonstrated a clear commitment to natural gas and an all-of-the-above energy approach. This official position from the White House is a strong step towards achieving American energy independence and creating good-paying jobs for UA members. As a proud son of New Jersey, I am thrilled with this decision and look forward to seeing PennEast through to completion.”
