UA Local 777 Business Manager Thanks Governor for Protecting Prevailing Wage

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont

Anthony Camillucci, Business Manager of UA Local 777 in Meriden, Connecticut, thanked Democratic Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont for closing an off-site fabrication loophole to the state’s prevailing wage laws. Under Connecticut law, any public project valued at over $1 million requires workers to be paid the local prevailing wage. Until July 2025, however, off-site fab work was not covered under the same protections. Local 777 took the lead and met with Governor Lamont last year to fix this issue.

Thanks to their engagement and relationships at the State Capitol, Local 777 was able to close this loophole, and Governor Lamont signed into law protections to ensure our members earn the same wages whether they’re working in the field or in the fab shop. Great work, Brother Camillucci and the Brothers and Sisters of Local 777!
